Correct procedures to paint the exterior of my home

Here are the quick steps to paint the exterior of your home:

    1. Pressure-wash to remove dirt and dust buildup.
    2. Repair damaged surfaces example: rotten wood.
    3. Remove loose paint by scraping or sanding.
    4. Caulk gaps in trim, and siding (if Hardie board is correctly installed does not need caulking)
    5. Prime stains, bare wood.
    6. Cover and protect areas that do not take paint.
    7. Paint typically 1 coat on the siding
    8. Paint 2 coats on the trim and same color attached gutters
    9. Paint 2 coats on downspouts
    10. Paint 2 coats on the wood of windows
    11. Paint 2 coats on the doors and garage doors
    12. Touch-ups
    13. Walk through with client.
    14. Final Touch ups
